Welcome to Telegram!
Before joining our chats we would like you to read and acknowledge our social media policies and expectations.
Social Media Policies and Expectations
1. This is a space to hang out and get to know each other! For many of us it's now an essential part of our social lives! Comments that go against our mission, are verbally abusive, or break relevant laws will not be tolerated and may result in removal from both our group and social media interaction.
2. Moderators may not always be present and active online. But if you have a grievance or think something threatens the mission of our group please message the sender directly, ask a moderator (Cam, Joan, or Meredith) to intervene. Grievances should not be aired in the group’s space without the explicit consent of a moderator.
3. Do not take or share screenshots without explicit permission from everyone who is directly involved. A number of our members value privacy, and we want this to be an environment where people feel safe to be their authentic selves. That being said, you should also be mindful that we live in the 21st century. While we do have a “no screenshot” rule, we cannot prevent it from being broken. We can only react after the fact. To that end, we recommend being mindful about posting comments, pictures, or personal information you wouldn’t want other people to see and remembering that the internet doesn't offer the same privacy as our events.
4. Participate and stay active in the group and in this chat! People share personal information in this space, and while we completely understand that not everyone has spare time for social media, we do expect members of our telegram groups to stay active by posting several times a year (i.e. about once a month.) To maintain active membership in the CMA Group—a requirement for being part of these chats—local members are also expected to attend at least one event each year, while members who live outside the Pacific Northwest are expected to attend at least one event every two years. If your membership lapses it can be reinstated by contacting us and attending an event.
